Common questions
What is NoFap?
NoFap is a self-improvement practice in which people take a break from pornography, and sometimes from masturbation, for a set period. It grew out of online communities in the 2010s. On NoFap Legends, you choose your own rule; the goal is a life that feels more intentional, not a number on a counter.
Is masturbation unhealthy?
No. Medical sources describe masturbation as a normal, healthy part of sexuality. Some people choose to cut back for personal, values-based, or habit-related reasons, and that is a valid choice too. We support both without shame.
Does abstinence boost testosterone?
The evidence is weak. One small study of ten men found modestly higher testosterone after three weeks of abstinence, and the widely shared “day-7 spike” study was retracted by its journal in 2021. Claims of dramatic or lasting increases are not supported.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Challenges, streaks, checklists, and journal entries are saved only in your browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded. You can export your progress as a file and import it on another device whenever you like.
What if I slip or relapse?
A slip is a setback, not a verdict on who you are. What helps most is getting curious instead of harsh: what led up to it, what was missing, and what you will change. Then take the next step. Our tools let you log a “learning day” instead of erasing your progress.
Is “porn addiction” a real diagnosis?
The World Health Organization’s ICD-11 includes compulsive sexual behaviour disorder, which can involve pornography, but experts still debate whether it should be called an addiction. What matters most is whether your use causes you real distress or problems in daily life. If it does, a licensed professional can help.
Are the stories on this site real?
No. Every story is clearly labeled as a fictional illustrative story. They are written to reflect common experiences and lessons, not to serve as testimonials or proof that anything works.
